GPS 72
This unit, (like the GPS 76), is rugged, waterproof & unsinkable. It has a larger screen with bigger numbers, which increases readability, bigger buttons, and the rugged design makes this unit welcome, even in the harshest conditions.
The GPS 72, (like the GPS 12), although better, is a low-cost solution for land &/or marine navigation. This rugged, waterproof, unsinkable GPS receiver offers a large, 4-level grayscale screen. It's designed as the next generation in basic, entry-level GARMIN GPS.
Some other great features include: backlighting, the trip computer with odometer, stopped time, moving time, average etc. Waypoint alarms for approaching, arrival, off-course and proximity. Stores 500 waypoints, 50 reversible routes and runs on only 2 AA batteries for up to 16hrs. Automatic track log; 10 saved tracks let you retrace your path in both directions.
Each unit comes set-up & ready to use from RMG with a BONUS Recharge Pack (Charger & 4 Batteries).
The GPS 72 has 1Mb of internal memory for uploading information from Garmin's MapSource. It is also compatible with RMG's GarField Pro to allow easy up/download and conversion of data. This unit is also designed (when available in Australia) to provide precise GPS positioning using correction data obtained from the Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS).
